Utilizing Drug Assistant to its fullest capabilities has allowed MAP to discontinue manually documenting tracking slips, progress notes, dispensing information and 90% of the information required for reporting purposes. The scanning pen attachment allows MAP to “bar code” our tracking slips and applications so that applications and medications can be tracked by merely “swiping” the bar code which automatically updates the computer files. Our ability to answer patient questions of “where their application is in the system” has been expedited by this process. The time savings for collecting the data and preparing the monthly statistical reports is an estimated 400 hours per year. This has allowed us to decrease our staffing at the YCCHD location from 3.6 FTE to 2.75 FTE. In addition, both Mike Fisher and Richard Westlake are very responsive to our requests and questions. They have made every effort to accommodate our requests, and I have appreciated their assistance and patience with us during this year of transition.
We have been very satisfied with Drug Assistant, and I would not hesitate to recommend them.
